Abstract
This article aims to analyze the perception and strategies of camel farmers in the Mourtcha department facing climatic difficulties in order to diagnose their perception of climate change and its consequences, and on the other hand, their adaptation strategies. 123 household heads were surveyed, 31 households in each of the four camps (Amchaloba, Souhaya, Amhere and Hawach). Data collection methodology consisted of a survey of pastors accompanied by individual and group interviews to collect the necessary information. The results show that livestock farmers perceive climatic hazards as a major threat to the viability of rural households in sub-Saharan Africa who live mainly from the use of natural resources. This study aims to analyze farmers' perceptions of climate change, its impacts on livestock farming and their adaptation strategies. However, herders are seeing reduced rainfall, rising temperatures and strong winds, all of which are considered more vulnerable to them. The level of education of the head of household, marital status and membership in an ethnic group determine this perception. This requires a better strategy for representing them in various decision-making bodies and for interventions for more social cohesion.
