Abstract

The purpose of this article is to identify the determinants of the milk and meat yields of cattle in Senegal. To estimate our models, we used a Johansen error correction model. The results reveal that in the long term, feed is a significant determinant of the milk and meat yields of cattle. The price of milk and that of beef also have a positive effect on the yield of milk and beef. On the other hand, the price of meat is negatively linked to the milk yield of cattle.
